How do you Esteem Yourself™?
You may have heard that to really love others, you must first love yourself... but do you? The way we see ourselves can have a huge impact on the way we treat and relate to other people.
Have a think about the following questions:
If you answered yes to a number of the questions above you may be suffering from low self-esteem. But what is self-esteem?
Esteem means to regard with respect...to prize...to have regard to the value...high estimation or value...great regard...favorable opinion....founded on supposed worth...to set a high value on....to respect....to appreciate...the condition of being honored....a feeling of delighted approval and liking...
So my perception of self-esteem is to think of myself in these terms. Do I have a high estimation of myself? Do I respect myself, do I feel that I approve of or even like myself?
Our self esteem is formed over a long period of time so it won't change overnight, but it can change because largely it is about our self-perception. It is caught up in the way we think about ourselves, and we CAN change the way we think.
In the Esteem Yourself™ workshop we address these issues, discuss some practical tools to help change the way you Esteem Yourself™ and develop an action plan to put those tools into practice.
There are still places available in the upcoming workshops, so please call to register.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
This is a tried and true book everyone into self-development should read and implement.
Here are the 7 Habits...
It's easy to read, easy to digest and easy to implement - although does require self-discipline.
Apart from this book, which is probably one of the best known of Covey's books the Franklin Covey Institute provide training, development and many other resources to help people and businesses be more effective. See www.franklincovey.com.au - I particularly like PlanPlus which is an excellent time management diary system.

“Low self-esteem consists of a poor opinion of oneself and one's own efforts, deeply rooted in the core of one's being. It sees oneself as no good and looks to others for affirmation. It is based on feelings of lack of acceptance and being 'put down' established early in life. It weakens motivation, performance and the ability to relate to people and affects one's own physical and emotional well-being”. Helena Wilkenson | |
